Ableton has officially released Live 12.1, bringing a wave of powerful creative tools, workflow refinements, and native audio devices to producers and stage performers. The headline additions include Auto-Shift—a native, real-time vocal pitch correction device—and a ground-up redesign of the Drum Sampler.

1. Auto-Shift: Native Real-Time Vocal Tuning
For years, Live users relied on third-party plugins like Auto-Tune or Melodyne for real-time vocal pitch tracking. Auto-Shift introduces low-latency pitch quantization directly inside Live’s native device rack. Supporting scale locking, vibrato control, formant shifting, and MIDI-controlled harmony tracking, it offers immediate vocal tuning during tracking sessions and live sets.
2. Redesigned Drum Sampler
The upgraded Drum Sampler streamlines one-shot percussive sound design with dedicated transient shaping, sub-bass synthesis, time-stretching, and ring modulation on individual drum pads. Producers can sculpt punchy kick drums and snappy snares without needing complex secondary plugin chains.
